Hikmatyar stresses collective political approach in peace talks

KABUL Gulbuddin Hikmatyar on Saturday warned if politicians not united for peace, Afghanistan would witness situation that happened after the withdrawal of Soviet Union troops again.

Addressing a massive gathering of his supporters marking the 36^th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet Union forces from Afghanistan, he said opportunity available in the form of reconciliation should be exploited in best possible interest.

Referring to the ongoing peace efforts he said unfortunately, efforts for the sabotage of peace was underway at a time when there was no consensus among politicians for peace and reconciliation.

He warned the negative past experience would be repeated if politicians remained different and lacked a common agenda for the reconciliation process.
