Abdul Hakim Dalili, the Afghan ambassador to Qatar, told Pajhwok Afghan News he was accompanying Dr. Mutlaq bin MajidAlqahtanion his visit to Kabul.
He said Alqahtani presented details of the Afghan peace process going on in Qatar to the president. An expected US-Taliban peace deal also came up for discussion
The outcome of the talks would lead to lasting peace in Afghanistan, hoped Alqahtani,who congratulated Ashraf Ghani on his reelection as president.
He said the Qatari diplomat met renowned jihadi leaderAbdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf.The two sides exchanged views on the peace process.
Formal negotiations between the US and Taliban I Doha have concluded, with both sides optimistic of signing a peace agreement on Feb. 29.
