2 security personnel wounded in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Taliban gunmen kidnapped a colonel and wounded two security personnel during separate attacks in western of Herat province, an official said on Thursday.

Governor spokesman JilaniFarhad told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban abducted the colonel to an unknown direction from Zawol district on Wednesday.   

He also said the Taliban attacked security forces and injured two security men injured in Shindand district.

"It's a week of violence reduction, but the Taliban are not living up to their commitment, while Afghan forces are loyal to their commitment in this regard," he added.

The militants, on the other hand, have not yet commented.
