ASADABAD (Pajhwok): The World Food Program (WFP) has provided eatables to more than 1,100 needy families in eastern Kunar province, an official said on Tuesday.
Governor Abdul Sattar Mirzakwal said the poor households belonged yo Asadabad, the provincial capital, Sawakai, Marawara, Narang, Noorgul, Watapur and Ghaziabad districts.
He said 2,042 metric tons of wheat was distributed to 1,169 families. So far, the provincial council and others donors have provided food and non-food assistance to 5,000 families in the province.
