KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): At least 19 Taliban militants have been killed and another 14 wounded after they waged attacks on five districts of southern Kandahar province, officials said on Wednesday.
Police Chief Gen. Dadin Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News Taliban militants coordinately stormed security posts in Maroof, Shah Walikot, Khakriz, Ghorak and Maiwand districts.
He said 19 Taliban militants were killed and another 14 were wounded as the security forces retaliated.
He said another seven Taliban were killed and five wounded after they attacked the Gorak district center and three more killed and six wounded in Khakriz district.
Another half a dozen militants were killed and two were wounded in Maiwand district and a seventh was killed in Maroof district.
He said security forces suffered no causalities in these firefights.
The Taliban have not yet commented about these incidents.
