ASADBAD (Pajhwok): Seven Daesh, or so-called Islamic State (IS), rebels have been killed in an airstrike by foreign forces in eastern Kunar province, the army said on Thursday.
A statement from the 201st Selab Military Corps said the airstrike took place in the Mazardari area of Noorgul district late on Wednesday night.
The statement said seven Daesh insurgents were killed in the airstrike. Civilians suffered no causalities in the attack, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the Nangarhar governor's spokesman Attaullah Khogyani told Pajhwok a number of Daesh rebels, fleeing Kunar, were arrested the security forces in Khewa district.
A separate statement from the 201st Selab Military Corps said around 30 Daesh fighters had surrendered to the security forces in the past two days in Kunar province.
