MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A man infected with coronavirus has fled from hospital in northern Balkh province, an official said on Saturday.
Dr.Ghosuddin Anwari, Balkh Public Health Director, told Pajhwok Afghan that 25 suspected coronavirus cases had been registered in Balkh so far.
He said Yar Mohammad, who tested positive for coronavirus, had returned from Iran 20 days back.
He said Yar Mohammad was hospitalized for two days but last night he broke the room window’s glasses and escaped from the hospital.
He said the patient had fled to Dawalabad district andefforts were underway to bring him back.
Earlier, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said three more positive coronavirus cases have been registered in Afghanistan, taking the number to 10.
Wahid Malyar, spokesman for the ministry, told Pajhwok the three new cases surfaced in Balkh, Kapisa and Samangan provinces.
