KABUL (Pajhwok): The security forces have been directed to resume operations against the militants plotting attacks against them
The acting defence minister issued the orders on on Thursday, saying there had been no decline in attacks by the enemy.
Asadullah Khalid said: “There has been no fall in enemy attacks. Today, we ordered our forces to return to an active defense position from defensive posture.”.
Previously, the security personnel had been in a defensive position during a weeklong reduction in violence period that led to the signing of the Taliban-US peace pact on February 29.
The security forces could carry out operations against the insurgents plotting attacks against them, said Khalid, who also proposed a ceasefire to help combat the coronavirus.
