MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): At least seven Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel and two public uprising group members have been killed in a Taliban attack in central Kapisa province, local official said on Saturday.
According to security sources, the militants attacked security check-posts in Afghania Dara area of Nijrab district on Friday night.
Police spokesman Abdul Shaiq Shourish confirmed the insurgents’ assault and said three militants were killed in retaliatory gunfire of security forces.
He said local policemen commander Ilyas Kohbanid was also among the dead.
Mohammad Agha, a resident of the area said five ALP personnel and two public uprising group members were killed and an eighth wounded.
Taliban has so far said nothing in this regard.
