KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): At least 27 Taliban insurgents have been killed and 19 others wounded during clashes in northern Kunduz province, a statement said on Sunday.
In a statement, Ministry of Defence (MoD), said militants stormed security check-posts in Khanabad and Dasht-i-Archi districts on Saturday night.
The statement said 27 militants were killed and 19 others wounded during the overnight clashes.
Police spokesman Hjratullah Akbari told Pajhwok Afghan News Taliban attacked security forces in Imam Sahib, Dasht-i-Archi and Khanabad district on Saturday night.
He said 24 insurgents, including notorious commander Qari Hafiz, were killed and 19 others wounded.
He added two security forces were killed and four others wounded during the clashes.
Yousaf Ayubi, Provincial Council chairman, without providing the exact figure, said that both sides suffered casualties on Saturday night clashes.
Taliban have said nothing in this regard.
But Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban, tweeted and security forces raided civilian houses in Imam Sahib district.
He claimed that 11 people, including women and children, were killed in the bombardment.
