The moneychangers’ association agreed to close the Sara-i-Shahzada market for two weeks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
A statement from Ghani’s office said the president and the association leaders discussed the market’s closure late on Saturday evening.
Ghani approved the moneychangers’ suggestion to conduct their activities at the former Telecommunications Ministry’s building.
Haji Mir Afghan Safi, the association head, thanked Ghani for allowing them to continue to work at the alternative venue.
The moneychangers promised following all guidelines from the Ministry of Public Health to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
