Taliban overrun Badakhshan’s Yamgan district

KABUL captured the Yamgan district of northeastern Badakhshan province after several hours of firefight with security forces, a well-placed source said on Sunday.

Governor Spokesperson Naik Mohammad Nazari told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban intensified their attacks on security forces check-posts in the Yamgan district and captures four check-posts after clashes.

He said the Taliban got shelters in public homes and security forces had to retreat so safe common people.

The Taliban have not spoken about the incident.
