Baghlan residents protest civilian casualties in airstrike

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Some residents of northern Baghlan province on Saturday staged protest against civilians’ casualties in Afghan forces airstrike.

They alleged six civilians were killed and wounded in security forces airstrike on Friday. The protesters blocked the Kabul-Mazar-i-Sharif Highway for at least half and an hours.

Ashoqullah, the resident of Chashma Sheer locality, said security forces have killed and wounded six people on Saturday when they bombarded a house in the Umarkhelo village.

He said two children of Ahmad Khan’s family were killed and four other family members injured in the airstrike.

Col. Mohammad Nabi, commander of the third brigade of Pamir Military Corp, told Pajhwok Afghan News no civilian casualties had been recorded in Afghan forces airstrike in recent days.

It is worth mentioning that seven members of a family were killed in an airstrike in the Dand-i-Shahabuddin locality in the recent past.
