KABUL (HIA) on Saturday accused the government of not releasing its prisoners to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
In a statement, the HIA, led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Pajhwok Afghan News said Taliban and HIA prisoners were excluded from presidential decrees ordering prisoners’ release to contain the spread of coronavirus.
It added, “Government has no good intention to release our prisoners.” Based on the government and HIA peace agreement, the Afghan government should release HIA prisoners as well, it added.
The statement stressed over holding intra-Afghan talks and suggested creation of the High Peace Council of all politicians.
Earlier, the Afghan government gas announced a 21-member delegation headed by former spymaster Masoum Stanikzai for talks with the Taliban.
