MAIMANA (Pajhwok): For the first time a man in northwestern Faryab province recovered from coronavirus and asked other people with coronavirus symptoms to isolate and quarantine themselves, an official said on Monday.
Dr. Mohammad Humayon Ahi, in charge of coronavirus patients in the Public Health Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Noorullah the resident of Dawlatabad district was tested positive for coronavirus soon after his return from Iran.
He said when health personnel suspected Noorullah for coronavirus infection; they brought him to the hospital, took his blood samples for test and dispatched it to Kabul.
Ahi said after eight days, it was revealed that Noorullah is infected with coronavirus and his treatment with all necessary care was started in the hospital.
Noorullah,20, while discharging from hospital, said around 40 days back he left Iran for his village Quzi Bai in Dawlatabad.
He said the hospital where he was brought for treatment had nothing for coronavirus patients in early days, but after my result was proved positive doctors paid more attention and provided all facilities.
Noorullah completed 12th class and said that as a result of insecurity and unemployment he was forced to go to Iran for work.
Faryab governor and civil society activist expressed concern over the lack of labortary for testing coronavirus in the province and said they transferred suspected samples to Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif.
Local government officials stressed over the provision of a testing lab in the province because according to them at least 20,000 Afghans had returned to Faryab from Iran.
