9 security personnel killed in Logar firefight

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): At least nine security personnel have been killed in a Taliban attack in central Logar province, local officials said on Thursday. 

The security forces and the Taliban suffer causalities during a firefight in the Dasht area of Charkh district late on Thursday night, the district chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Khalilullah Kamal said both sides suffered casualties as a result of the five-hour clash, but exact figures were yet to be ascertained.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the exchange of fire.
