994m afs unpaid bills: DABS exposes defaulters

KABUL (Pajhwok): Power utility Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) on Saturday revealed a new list of consumers defaulting on electricity bills amounting to more than 994 million afghanis.

Electricity supply was also disconnected to the defaulters in the list in Kabul, Nangarhar, Herat, Kandahar and Balkh provinces. These individuals should pay above 994 million to the government in unpaid electricity bills.

According to the list received by Pajhwok Afghan News, 223 defaulters are in Kabul, 188 in Balkh, 167 in Herat, 56 individuals in Nangarhar and 35 defaulters in Kandahar.

These defaulters were thrice asked to pay their arrears but they did not do so far, thus DABS officials disconnected their power lines.
