KABUL has agreed to keep Torkham and Spin Boldak gates open five days a week for trade.
In a statement, MoCI linked Islamabad’s decision to its strenuous efforts and cooperation from the Pakistan embassy in Kabul.
The crossing-points will stay open Monday through Friday for transit trade vehicles. MoCI hoped with the easing of restrictions, prices of essential items would come down.
Nangarhar Customs Director Nasrullah Sahibzada said they were striving to resolve the issues facing traders. He confirmed the routes would stay open five days a week.
“We are striving to keep open the Torkham crossing point for 24 hours,” he informed.
Meanwhile, the governor’s house in Kandahar verified the Spin Boldak Friendship Gate would remain open for transit five days a week.
