In line with a government-sponsored plan, Kabul bakeries have started distributing free bread to coronavirus-affected labourers and other deserving families.
Long queues of people waiting for bread distribution could be seen in front of bakeries, something that could contribute to the spread of the virus, the MoPH spokesman said.
With Covid-19 cases continuing to mount, Wahidullah Mayar said the disease had spread rapidly over the past five days.
