PARAKH (Pajhwok): Eleven doctors, including two specialists, have been tested positive for coronavirus in central Panjsher province that causes shortage of physicians in the province, an official said on Wednesday.
Total 50 people, including 11 physicians, have been tested positive for coronavirus in Panjsher province, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH)
Governor Kamaluddin Nizami said some of infected doctors have been quarantined in the hospital and some in their houses and provided with medical treatment.
He demanded support from central government and added as a result of shortage of medical staff and this problem forced patients to go to Kabul and other provinces.
In Panjshir, one 40-bed hospital is situated in Rakha district and one emergency hospital in Anaba district.
Public Health Director Dr. Sher Del while referring to the shortage of doctors, said 18 doctors discharges duties in Panshir government hospital, except emergency hospital, and 11 of them had been tested positive.
