Taliban deny Mullah Mansoor owned property in Pakistan

KABUL have rejected Pakistani media reports that their former chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour owned properties in Karachi city.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid in a statement said they strongly rejected such reports as untrue claims. He said trade, purchase and sale was a legitimate act and a personal right of everyone, but Akhtar did not own any property in Pakistan and had no time for business in his life period.

The Taliban have said some biased groups are spreading propaganda against their leaders.

Pakistani media reported that a court in Karachi city of Pakistan ordered confiscation of property worth around 32 million rupees belonging to former Former Taliban Chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour on Friday.

The order was issued by a special anti-terrorism court in Karachi, Dawn newspaper reported on Friday.

Sources said an investigation into terrorist financing in Pakistan has revealed that former Taliban leader Mullah AkhtarMansoor had bought buildings, houses and land in different parts of Karachi on fake Pakistani identity cards.

According to the report, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had registered a case against Mullah Mansoor who had bought the property in the names of Mohammad Wali and Gul Mohammad.

Mullah Mansoor was killed in a US drone strike on May 21, 2016, while entering Pakistani territory from Iran.
