JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Hundreds of residents of Ghanikhel district in eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday protested against the district administrative chief and accused him of corruption.
Assembling in the main district bazaar and chanting slogans, the protesters also accused the district mayor of extorting shopkeepers.
Mohammad Rahim, one of the protesters, alleged that District Chief Malem Mashooq had embezzled funds allocated for coronavirus and other assistance and did not hand them over to deserving persons.
