KABUL of taking away truckloads of food aid for the needy people.
At least five trucks loaded with fresh food items, part of assistance from Turkmenistan amid the coronavirus pandemic, were seized by the militants in Faryab province.
In a statement on Sunday, the rights watchdog said: “We urge the Taliban to stop hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid and to keep their promises in this regard."
Faryab Governor Naqibullah Fayeq had received the aid at the Aqina dry port on the border with Turkmenistan at an official ceremony earlier this month.
However, the Taliban intercepted the convoy of trucks before it could reach the provincial capital. The aid consists of perishable items such as eggs and vegetables.
