JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 40 people suffered causalities on Tuesday when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a funeral ceremony for a former Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the suicide attack took place in the Khewa district of the province at around 11:00am
He said the bombing occurred when people were attending the funeral prayer for Shiekh Ikram, a former ALP commander. Initial reports suggested 40 people had suffered causalities, he added.
