Rains, flash floods predicted in 23 provinces

KABUL Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) on Wednesday warned of probable flash flooding in the next 48 hours in 23 provinces of the country, calling on people to take precautions.

The authority said heavy rains and flash floods were expected in Kabul, Ghor, Sar-i-Pul, Balkh, Bamyan, Samangan, Kunduz, Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Laghman, Kapisa, Panjsher, Nangarhar, Khost, Paktia, Logar, Kunar Nuristan and Salang.

Heavy rains would trigger flash flooding, ACAA said, adding 20-30 centimetres of rains could fall in different parts of the country.

Many people suffer life and financial losses every year as a result of rains and floods in the country.
