KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan and Iranian border commissars have launched a joit investigation into the alleged killing of Afghan migrants in the border area between the two neighbors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said on Thursday.
On May 2nd a group of 70 migrants were arrested, beaten, tortured and drowned in the Harirud River while crossing the border into Iran.
MoFA in a statement said border commissars from the two countries have launched investigation at the site of incident to unearth the truth.
The ministry said the joint investigations began in a favorable atmosphere and border commissars from both countries were working based evidence available at the site.
