KABUL on Tuesday denied a statement regarding India attributed to the movement, saying they would never interfere in internal affairs of others.
Reuters reported the statement, saying escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan would negatively impact the Afghan peace process.
The report quoted a Taliban spokesman as saying that continuing tensions between the two countries would affect the situation in the region and India would pay a huge cost.
But Suhail Shaheen, Taliban’s political office spokesman in Doha, denied the statement on the India-Pakistan tension, saying the movement had nothing to do with it.
He wrote on his Twitter account: “The statement reported by some media outlets was not issued by the Islamic Emirate, whose policy is based on non-interfere in internal affairs of other countries.
