Moon not sighted, Eid to be celebrated on Sunday

KABUL on Sunday, as the Shawal moon could not be sighted in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

The moon was not sighted in the kingdom and the nation would celebrate Eid on Sunday, the Saudi Gazette reported citing government officials.

In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Saudi citizens will offer Eid prayers at their homes as the kingdom will remain under curfew during the five-day festival.

Because of the coronavirus threat around the globe, people have been asked to avoid visiting relatives and gathering for lavish meals.
