Ulema Council Head Maulvi Kashaf passes away in Kabul

 

KABUL Council (AUC) Head Qiyyamuddin Kashaf has died due to an illness he was suffering from, his family member confirmed on Sunday.

Abdul Basir Mansour, Kashaf’s family member, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Ulema Council head breathed his last in Kabul on Sunday morning.

Nangarhar Governor Spokesperson Attaullah Khogyani said Maulvi Kashaf’s funeral will be offered in the Sherzai Stadium and all arrangement had been made in this regard.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani expressed deep sorrow over the death of Maulvi Kashaf and said that he spent most part of his life serving the religion and disseminating its teachings to others.

A statement from Presidential Palace said that Kashaf by the virtue of his knowledge served the society and the country, enlightened youth about divine rules and regulations and trained them with national and Islamic passion.
