CHAHARIKAR/AIBAK (Pajhwok): A child was killed and a National Directorate of Security (NDS) agent injured in a gun attack in central Parwan province, an official said on Saturday.
Deputy police chief Abdul Wasi Rahimi told Pajhwok Afghan News unknown gunmen fired at NDS personnel in Charikar on Friday evening.
The gunfire resulted in the killing of a 13 years old child and injuries to the NDS official. The child had come out of home to purchase some items.
Abdul Qasim Sangin, head of the 100-bed Civil Hospital, said one injured individual and a dead body were shifted to hospital on Friday night. The injured was later taken to Kabul for treatment.
Separately, three Taliban prisoners were released in compliance with a presidential decree in Samangan province, Prison Affairs Director Col. Naseer Ahmad Malakzada said.
He added 33 Taliban prisoners were in Samangan jails serving their prison terms. Nearly 2,000 Taliban prisoners have been freed so far.
