Let Alkozai give patients his vaccine, govt asked

KABUL (Pajhwok): Many residents of capital Kabul on Sunday staged a protest, asking the government to key Mohammad Alkozai give Covid-19 patients the vaccine he has made.

Alkozai, who arrived in Kabul from southern Kandahar province, claims having produced the vaccine with the help of Tib-e-Nabavi tips and ancient Greek medical principles.

The use of the vaccine led a coronavirus patient to complete recovery in only two hours, he claimed, saying that the patient had taken only three drops of the vaccine.

Alkozai had been providing coronavirus patients his vaccine in the Kart-i-Mamoorin area at a hospital, which was visited by dozens of people.

But on Saturday, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said a vaccine made by Alkozai was being examined. People were asked not to use it before the final finding is announced.

The ministry also stopped Alkozai from examining patients. But on Sunday (today) many people gathered in front of the hospital against the government’s decision and closed the road.

The demonstrators claimed Alkozai had been taken away by the ministry and asked the government to allow him to distribute the vaccine to Covid-19 patients.

Hayatullah Halim, one of the protestors, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Many people will die before medicines reach Afghanistan from China. The government should allow Alkozai to sell the vaccine.”

He added: “At least 3,000 people have gathered here since morning and the size of the rally is growing with each passing minute. People are tired but the government has no clear plan to battle the pandemic.”

Imran, another protestor, alleged the MoPH had asked Alkozai for the vaccine. He grumbled the government had stopped his work because he was distributing the vaccine free of cost.

Roohullah said the protestors asked the government to ley Alkozai’s work because he was distributing the vaccine for free and it was effective for Covid-19 patients.
