KABUL (Pajhwok): About 670 wagons loaded with food, fuel and construction materials have been imported over the past three days to meet people’s basic needs in quarantine days, the Ministry of Transport said on Thursday.

The materials, including nearly 40,000 tonnes of good, were imported through Hairatan, Aqina and Torghondai ports, a statement from the ministry said.

It added the wagons were loaded with 11,377 tonnes of oil, more than 4,781 tonnes of liquefied gas, 4,745 tonnes of wheat, 13,280 tonnes of flour, 826 tonnes of ghee, 2,390 tonnes of non-food items and 1,670 tonnes of construction items.

The ministry promised to ensure the supply of more food and non-food items to the people during the ongoing quarantine period, the statement concluded.
