CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): A dozen individuals have been arrested in connection with different crimes in central Kapisa province, an official said on Thursday.
Abdul Shariq Shurish, police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the detainees faced accusations ranging from kidnapping to armed robberies, sexual abuse and possessing illegal arms.
He said arresting such people would help improve security in the province.
Elsewhere in central Dakundi province, security forces detected and defused five landmines in Korjan district of the province.
Gul Aqa Sajodi, police spokesman, said intelligence operatives discovered and defused the landmines. He accused Taliban of planting the explosives in the area.
