NEILI (Pajhwok): Central jail officials in central Daikundi province on Thursday said eight prisoners suffering from incurable diseases have been on hunger strike to demand their release in line with a presidential order.
One of the inmates, who did not reveal his name, spoke to Pajhwok Afghan News over the phone and said the Health Commission of the Public Health Department had received a presidential decree ordering release of prisoners with incurable diseases in late March.
