Policemen among 18 killed in Kandahar clash

KANDAHAR City (Pajwok): Two policemen and 16 militants have been killed and 11 others militants injured during a clash in the Dand district of southern Kandahar province, an official said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Jamal Nasir Barikzai told Pajhwok one policeman was injured in the Taliban attack on their check post in the Emart area of Dand district on Friday night.

He said militants attack was repulsed by police and were inflicted heavy casualties.

Dand district is located 5 kilometers southwest of Kandahar city and is considered as one of the safest districts in the province.
