KABUL attacks in northern Balkh and Samagan provinces an official said on Tuesday.
Governor spokesman Munir Farhad told Pajhwok Afghan News that six local policemen were killed and one injured after Taliban militants stormed security check-posts in Chahar Bolok district of Balkh on Monday night.
He said the Taliban also suffered casualties during the firefight that lasted three hours.
Officials in the civil hospital confirmed receiving six dead bodies and five wounded from the scene.
Separately, two security forces were killed and one was wounded in a Taliban attack on security check-posts in Roi Dowab district of Samangan province, said , police spokesman Sarman Munir.
The Taliban also suffered casualties but the exact number was unknown.
The Taliban have not commented in this regard.
