KABUL (Pajhwok): The US has strongly condemned the attack Afghan Attorney General lawyers and other team members working to facilitate prisoner releases.
The attack by the enemies of peace took the lives of five civilians, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Peace Zalmay Khalilzad tweeted.
“We call for full investigation to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice. This attack underscores what we all know: Spoilers (both domestic and foreign) are trying to disrupt and delay the peace process.”
He urged both sides not to be deterred and push forward to take the steps necessary to reach intra-Afghan negotiations, where a comprehensive ceasefire and a political settlement could be negotiated as quickly as possible.
“This is what the Afghan people want and we stand with them,” remarked Khalilzad, hours after the AGO said five of its employees were killed in an attack in Kabul’s Deh Sabz district.
