SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok) Six civilians have been killed and one wounded as a landmine tore through their vehicle in northern Jawzjan province, an official said Thursday.
Governor spokesman Marof Azar told Pajhwok Afghan News that the dead included two young girls, a woman and a boy and two men.
He said the ill-fated vehicle struck the hidden bomb in Foruk Qala village of Mordian district on Thursday.
According to Azar, the village of Furuk Qala is under the control of Taliban
“Security forces do not travel to the village and it is unknown why the Taliban planted the landmine in this village.”
There was no word from the Taliban in this regard.
