KABUL (Pajhwok): The 100-bed maternity hospital in Dashti Barchi area of Kabul resumed functioning at a special ceremony on Wednesday.
Acting Public Health Minister Ahmad Jawad Usmani told the ceremony that the attack on the hospital was a matter of great concern.
Referring to the attack, Usmani added doctors provided services to all people, regardless of political or military issues and that offensive attacks on health centers should be avoided.
He said the hospital resumed its activities in cooperation with the Doctors without Borders
He added a number of healthcare personnel from other hospitals were appointed in the 100-bed hospital, where Doctors without Borders runs a maternity clinic, west of the capital.
In last May, at least 24 people, including women and newborns babies, were killed and 16 others wounded in a gun attack on the maternity hospital in Kabul.
