PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Indian government has decided to appoint a new ambassador to Afghanistan, replacing Vinay Kumar.
Rudrendra Tandon, who is expected to begin the diplomatic assignment soon, has already served in Kabul and Jalalabad, an Indian newspaper reported.
An Indian Foreign Service officer, he is seen as an Afghanistan specialist who has led the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran desk in the foreign ministry in Delhi.
