SHARAN (Pajhwok): The police chief for the Sarobi district of southeastern Paktika province was killed along with three bodyguards in a roadside bombing, an official said on Sunday.
Mohammad Qasim Ayubi, the district’s administrative head, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Darya Khan Talash was killed along with three guards as their vehicle hit by a roadside bomb late on Saturday night.
Zalmay Kharotai, a resident of the area, confirmed the incident to Pajhwok, saying Dari Khan had a sting of operations against the Taliban militants in the district.
Another resident, who wished to go unnamed, said the slain police commander had provided a huge quantity of weapons to inhabitants of the district at his personal expense.
