KABUL (Pajhwok): At least eight security forces have been killed and nine others injured in a car-bombing attack on their convoy on Monday in the Syedabad district of central Maidan Wardak province, a statement from the Ministry of Defence said.
The MoD regretted the attack on security forces and said an explosive-laden vehicle was used in the attack on security forces.
“Unfortunately, eight security personnel were killed and nine others injured in the bombing,” reads the statement.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombing and sayed Abdullah Ghaznavi carried out the attack in which 48 security personnel were killed and injured. Seven military tanks were destroyed in the attack.
