KABUL have expressed conditional readiness for much awaited intra-Afghan talks after Eid-ul-Adha.
Suhail Shaheen, the group’s Qatar Office spokesperson, on his twitter wrote: “The Islamic Emirate is ready to release all remaining prisoners of the other side before the eve of Eid al-Adha provided they release our prisoners as per our list already delivered to them. Likely, IEA is ready to begin intra-Afghan negotiations immediately after Eidin case the process of the release of the prisoners is completed.”
Shaheen’s tweet comes as violence in Afghanistan surged in recent days with explosions and airstrikes from government forces.
International community and regional powers have been stressing over the start of intra-Afghan talks and release of prisoners on both sides.
