<p>KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): At least six people were killed and another 131 wounded in traffic accidents during Eid-ul-Adha holidays in southern Kandahar province, local officials said Monday.</p>
<p>Dr. Musa Jan Sultan, public <a href="/en/health" class="glossify-link">health</a> director, told Pajhwok Afghan News that casualties from traffic accidents happened during the first four days of Eid in some districts and in Kandahar city, the provincial capital.</p>
<p>He said <a href="/en/women" class="glossify-link">women</a> and children were among six people killed and 131 others wounded in these traffic accidents.</p>
<p>He said, “A day before Eid, 27 people were injured and shifted to Mirwais Zonal hospital from traffic accidents.”</p>
<p>He said the day first of Eid witnessed 33 people sustaining injuries in traffic crashes.</p>
<p>Two dead bodies and 34 injured people were hospitalized on the day two of Eid and two dead bodies 34 injured people were delivered on the day three and two dead and four injured were brought to the hospital today.</p>
<p>He said the causalities occurred due to motorcycle accidents, calling on parents to prevent their children from reckless driving.</p>
<p>Most of the injured were youth who sustained injuries in accidents involving motorcycles. <a href="https://www.pajhwok.com/en/women">Women</a> and children were among in the dead and injured.</p>
<p>Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Kandahar City, the provincial capital and one of the injured, said he was injured in a traffic accident.</p>
<p>He said most people did not follow traffic roles in the city and urged he security forces to take measure and legal steps against those breaking traffic rules in the city.</p>
