KABUL (Pajhwok): A key Daesh or Islamic State (IS) member has been detained during special operations in eastern Kunar province, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Wednesday.
In a statement, MoD said: “Mohammad Sayed, a high-level ISIS commander responsible for transferring foreign fighters from abroad to Afghanistan, was arrested by commando forces in Kunar on Tuesday night.”
The source said Sayed was a key planner behind the recent attack on Nangarhar prison in Jalalabad City.
Daesh group has so far said nothing in this regard.
