5 Taliban killed, 25 detained in Kabul operations

KABUL militants have been killed and 25 others, including three key commanders, arrested during operations in the Shakar Dara district of Kabul, the Ministry of Defense said on Monday.

In a statement, the MoD said the operations were carried out after the security forces and power pylons were attacked in the district.

The statement said five insurgents were killed, two wounded and 25 others, including three key commanders, detained in the two-day clearing operations.

It said a large quantity of weapons and ammunition belonging to the militants was sized by security forces. The security forces and civilians had suffered no casualties in the operation.
