SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): At least seven Taliban militants were killed and nearly a dozen others wounded during separate incidents of violence in northern Jawzjan province on Wednesday, an official said.
Police chief Maj. Abdul Wahid Wijdan told Pajhwok Afghan News a clash took place between security forces and Taliban militants in Gogoldash village of Faizabad district today Wednesday.
He said four Taliban militants were killed and another three wounded in the firefight. Three uprising members were also killed and a fourth wounded in the clash.
He further added that Mullah Karim, a Taliban key commander, was killed and another five others wounded in clashes in Nawabad Jarqadoq village of Qushtepah district.
Two more Taliban militants were killed and five others wounded in a clash with security forces in Mangoti village of Shiberghan City, the provincial capital.
