KABUL prisoners has been main hurdle to intra Afghan talks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said on Thursday.
Efforts are, however, on to resolve these problems while there was some progress, MoFA Spokesperson Gran Hiwad said.
He told reporters here that the foreign ministry was engaged with the two nations, France and Australia, and some regional and international partners to remove the final hurdle that delayed the launch of intra-Afghan talks.
Without giving details, he said some development had been made in this regard but time was needed to fully resolve the problem.
“There is no other hurdle apart from opposition from the two countries to the release of Taliban prisoners. If any other hurdle is created, the foreign ministry in coordination with other countries would resolve it.”
He said if the problem was resolved, the intra-Afghan talks would begin and the government team was fully prepared.
