KABUL attack in the Khwaja Bahauddin district of northern Takhar province, an official said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Khalil Aseer told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked public uprising members led by Malik Ahmad Tatar in Lala Guzar village on Friday night.
Nine security personnel were killed and a 10th wounded in the overnight clash, he said, adding the militants also suffered casualties. But the exact figures are yet to be known.
According to another report, four bases of the Afghan National Army (ANA) were overrun by Taliban on the Kunduz-Takhar highway.
A source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok ANA forces had abandoned Malarghi, Dokan Adam Khan, Khwaja Pista and Maktab-i-Chaharsari bases and retreated to Khanabad district.
Official sources and Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents.
