Kabul hails Ghulam Khan, Boldak crossings reopening

KABUL on Sunday welcomed the reopening of Spinboldak-Chaman and Ghulam Khan crossings for trade and hoped the move would help improve trade links between the two countries.

Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Giran Hiwad said the two crossings on the Durand Line reopened officially on Saturday.

He said the reopening would not only help promote trade ties between Kabul and Islamabad but it would help improve economic situation of people living on both sides of the Durand Line.

Referring to the reopening of Spinboldak-Chaman crossing, Hiwad said 100,000 people and hundreds of trucks loaded with goods crossed the crossing in the past two days.

Hiwad also said a delegation has been sent to Iran to start Computerized Identity Cards and issue passports to Afghan refugees living in the neighboring country.
